Black Oxygen Organics is derived from black mud dug from 60 feet below a living peat bog in Ontario Canada. It is put through a water filtration process to take the “dirt” part out and leave 97.64% Fulvic and Humic acid, 1.8% moisture, and about 0.5% trace minerals and vitamins, all naturally occurring, nothing is added.
This is freeze dried and that’s what we are drinking, putting on skin, and bathing in.
No chemicals are used to extract, and no heat used in any part of the process, so the fulvic and humic obtained from Black Oxygen is in a pure form.
Most fulvic products on the market are derived from fossilized matter like rock or shale. In this form the energy is spent and the benefits are not even a fraction of those from a living source. Harsh chemicals are the primary extraction method and can be present in the end product.
Fulvic that is liquid is mostly water. With Black Oxygen Organics we add the freeze-dried powder to water to ingest, or use as a topical treatment.

How do you take Black Oxygen Organics?
Black oxygen (BOO) is a fulvic/humic acid supplement that comes in a zip-top bag as a fine black powder. (click here to buy) It also comes in tablets, but for versatility and ease of starting nice and low, I recommend purchasing the powder first.
There are a few ways to take Black Oxygen. It is great inside and out!
To take internally, start with 1/8 teaspoon, or even less for my really sensitive people, and mix it into at least 4 ounces of cold or room temperature water, juice, or other food. It will dye your food a dark brown, but is flavorless. Then you can work your way up to the recommended dose on the package.
How to take Powdered Black Oxygen:
- Fill a cup with water or juice or milk.
- Add 1/8 teaspoon black oxygen powder
- Allow to absorb for 5 minutes
- Give a quick stir and drink it down!
- I promise- BOO is tasteless unless you put it directly on your tongue- and even then it isn’t bad!
- Start feeling the difference in an hour for most people!
- If you don’t feel anything, do again with another 1/8th teaspoon, working up to 1/2 teaspoon a day.
The bag may seem small when you first get it, but it lasts for a long time! Even with a family doing baths and taking internally daily.
I like to mix it into yogurt, as it’s easy to mix in. Lots of people put it in their coffee, or into a water bottle and then just shake it up. It does take a few shakes to dissolve.
The good news with this for my GAPS people who are really sensitive- we were able to start really slow (1/16th of a teaspoon that I eyeball from the 1/8th teaspoon measuring spoon that I have) with BOO and none of us had any negative reactions! Still, you’ll want to start really low and slow- maybe 1/16th or 1/8th teaspoon every 3 days, or better yet, start with a bath or topical application and see how you feel!
For reference, different kinds of CBD oil, more than 1 spray of TRS, and a bunch of other different supplements I’ve tried have caused excessive healing reactions in my daughter and I’ve had to be really careful with how we start protocols. So I was really excited that we were able to do BOO without any reactions! I’m only giving her 1/16th teaspoon once a week, and a topical application/bath once a week but I’ll take it!
Black Oxygen Organics Bath:
To take a bath with BOO, add 1 teaspoon of the powder to your running tap water. You don’t want it to be super hot so you don’t kill off the beneficial properties, but bath temp is good. If it’s comfortable for you, it’s good for BOO! :) If you don’t have a bath tub, you can use a small foot bath tub and do your soak that way. Soak for 20 minutes, and then rinse. You can wash as normal with the BOO water, and then rinse it all off with clean water.
Within the bath, you can also make a paste as described below and add that to any spots on your skin that are rough, rashy, or irritated. Finger painting with the mud is also a favored activity in my house!
*Clean up* BOO is a bit messy in the tub. To clean up, I keep a brush dish wand filled with half dish soap and half water in my shower. Once the water is out of the tub, I give the brown drips a quick scrub and rinse and they come right off without any effort.
BOO Spot Treatment:
To make a paste, I like to put just a little bit (1/8th teaspoon) of powdered BOO into a small bowl, and then use a makeup brush to apply. I apply a good layer, then let it dry, and rinse off in the sink, or shower.
Don’t worry, the brush and dish rinse out easily with no scrubbing or staining :)
BOO for Pets
For pets, dose 1/4 teaspoon of the powder per 40 lbs of weight by putting it in their water or mixing into wet food.
To use Black Oxygen for skin health:
- Make a paste of 1 teaspoon black oxygen and 1 teaspoon water. (you may need more if you are covering a large area)
- Apply to the affected area.
- Cover with plastic wrap if desired, this will keep it from being exposed to air and will work its way deeper into the tissue. If kids are resistant or you don’t have time to cover with plastic wrap, don’t worry, it is still very effective.
- Allow to dry and try to keep on there for 20 minutes.
- Rinse off with water.
- Repeat twice a week or as desired.
- Baths (1/2+ teaspoon in a warm bath for 20 minutes) may work as maintenance instead of the spot treatment with the paste.
Which is best?
It’s best to experiment and see how you feel! I think most of us use BOO both inside and out, once you get your bag of Black Oxygen Organics powder, you’ll come up with many ways to try it!
