West Bozeman MT Pet Care, Dog Boarding

Offering in Bozeman Montana:

  • Doggy Daycare so your pup isn’t lonely while you hit the ski slopes or work extra hours.
  • Dog walking and cat drop-ins to give some extra interaction during long days (Within 1 mile of Cottonwood and Durston Rd only)
  • Dog boarding where your dog becomes an honorary member of our family while you are out of town or in a busy season of life (for cats I recommend using ‘drop ins’ so that they can remain comfortable in their own home).
  • Individualized care– I cap my boarding and doggy daycare to only 2 dogs or 3 from the same family at one time to ensure everyone gets the attention they deserve.

About Us

We love pets, but currently don’t own any dogs. We are an active family in the Valley West subdivision in Bozeman, Montana with a fenced yard (5 feet) and kids ages 3-17. I enjoy walking dogs as long as it is above 0 degrees around the neighborhood pond. I work from home and would be the one taking care of the dog, with lots of cuddles and play time by the kids.

  • I do all my bookings HERE.  Check my calendar for openings, and book now to hold your spot.
  • I used to foster dogs for Canine Companions for Independence (an amazing organization that trains service dogs) and have owned a lab, German shorthair, and border collie mix in the past. We love to take care of pets!
  • Experienced with raw food if that’s your preference.
  • I work from home with a flexible schedule. I have to run kids here and there in the area but am rarely gone more than 2 hours at a time.
  • I have a fenced yard and baby gate on the porch for extra security if needed for escape artists ;) my kids are attentive to dogs and we have one indoor/outdoor cat that stays in my daughter’s room at night. I have a good place for a crate in the main living area or entryway.
  • We’re up at 5 and go until 8! Dogs can go in and out as often as needed and can expect tons of attention when school is not in session, and a moderate amount when it is ;)

What you may want to know about my pet sitting/doggy daycare/boarding

Here some ‘about me’s’ and how I care for pets that you might be interested in. This is a comprehensive list- feel free to just skim it or disregard entirely if you are already familiar with my home and/or are a very relaxed pet parent :)

  • I have children and if we are coming to your house for any of your booking, I may have 1-2 with me at any time. They know to be respectful, and love pets and pets love them!
  • I assume everyone has cameras everywhere; no need to disclose, and it doesn’t bother me at all- if anything, I prefer it.
  • I keep an extra small size and large size dog crate. I recommend you bring your dog’s own crate if they are attached to it, or just a blanket or bed so they are more comfortable if you would like to use mine.
  • I have slip leashes (large and small), stainless steel food bowls.
  • Unless otherwise provided, I use Blue brand beef treats (ingredients: Oatmeal, Barley, Oat Flour, Beef, Flaxseed, Carrots, Cane Molasses, Oat Fiber, Canola Oil, Salt, Calcium Carbonate, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (source of Vitamin C), preserved with Mixed Tocopherols, Oil of Rosemary, Vitamin E Supplement.),
  • I also use Arm and Hammer Dog Shampoo and Burt’s Bees Dog conditioner, and a Furminator dog brush.  If you prefer I do *not* use any of these, please let me know and bring your preferred replacement for your dog’s stay.
  • If your dog sheds I will most likely be brushing them daily, just as a personal preference.
  • If your dog gets smelly/dirty I will wash them in our tub to keep my house from getting too dirty.  If you would like to request a bath, in most cases I can acclimate and you can book with your dog’s stay.
  • I treat dogs like they are part of the family unless you have more strict rules you would like me to follow. If your dog enjoys outings and car rides, I’m happy to load them up in my car for adventures. I’m cautious about heat and cold and have remote start that I leave on so the car stays climate controlled if I need to run into a store. This is entirely up to you, if you’re not comfortable with this, I’m happy to leave them crated at home. I rarely am gone for more than 2 hours at a time.
  • I love walking dogs and usually will walk them a mile twice a day, with as many potty breaks as needed in our fenced yard. Let me know if this is too much for your dog.
  • Please let me know if your dog attempts to escape and needs to be leashed in the yard (5 foot fence)
  • I usually give twice-daily updates, or updates every time I do a drop-in. Please let me know if your communication preferences are more or less- I don’t want to bug you with excess communication if you are on vacation, but am happy to update more often if desired.
  • Please keep all communication and bookings on Rover so that it’s all in one place for me.
  • I’m looking forward to taking care of your pet!

Getting Started

Before taking a new pet, I do ask that we do a free meet-and-greet before booking so that we know you are comfortable with me and your pet is a good fit for me and my home.

Once we meet and it looks like a good fit, booking through Rover will hold your spot in my calendar. I only accept dogs for daycare/boarding from one family at a time, except under very special circumstances (I know the dogs well and they work well together)

Information I need from you prior to your pet’s stay

How often does your pet eat, how much?

What is your preferred vet? (If none are selected, I will use Cottonwood Animal Clinic)

Are there any health problems I should watch for during my time caring with your pet?

Does your dog have any separation anxiety or phobias?

Is it okay for me to give your pet treats? I use Blue brand Beef Treats unless you provide others.
